During February-March 2020, the Sasakawa Peace Foundation, EME and SHE conducted field research to understand the situation of women entrepreneurs in rural Myanmar. With support from Ezay and Microfinance Delta, we surveyed 104 women across rural Bago and Ayeyarwady regions. We believe that knowledge shared leads to problems solved and for that purpose we've made public the results of this research in easily navigable data dashboards. Please review the data below at your leisure, and do reach out to us if you're interested in supporting rural Myanmar women in growing their businesses.

Please note: Included in this dashboard is the ability to filter by data collection partner. When selecting, please note that Microfinance Delta mostly interviewed their customers and therefore these respondents will report a higher frequency of having received loans. Ezay collected data in Bago region and Microfinance Delta in Ayeyarwady; these regions and the respondents were considered comparable. While 104 is too small of a number to be statistically significant, the researchers consider that this data is useful as an indicator. This dashboard or the data within is not promoted for use in decision making and in no way indicates any recommendations or investment decisions.
